Katerina Hilari

Η Δρ Κατερίνα Χείλαρη είναι Καθηγήτρια Επίκτητων Διαταραχών Επικοινωνίας και Επικεφαλής του Ερευνητικού Κέντρου Επιστημών Γλώσσας και Επικοινωνίας στο City, Πανεπιστήμιο του Λονδίνου. Είναι Ψυχολόγος και Λογοθεραπεύτρια. Η έρευνά της είναι εμπνευσμένη από τις προτεραιότητες των ατόμων με αφασία. Ηγείται προγράμματος έρευνας για την ανάπτυξη και την αξιολόγηση της αποτελεσματικότητας σύνθετων παρεμβάσεων για την αφασία.

Η έρευνά της επικεντρώνεται επίσης στον ψυχοκοινωνικό αντίκτυπο της αφασίας και άλλων επίκτητων διαταραχών, καθώς και στην ανάπτυξη και χρήση μετρήσεων έκβασης αυτό-αναφοράς. Η Κατερίνα έχει πάνω από 100 δημοσιεύσεις, συμπεριλαμβανομένων 87 επιστημονικών άρθρων και 185 παρουσιάσεων σε συνέδρια (25 ως προσκεκλημένη και κεντρική ομιλήτρια). Έχει λάβει βραβεία για αριστεία στην έρευνα (2011), εξαιρετική εποπτεία σε διδακτορικούς φοιτητές (2015) και για καλύτερο άρθρο επιστημονικού περιοδικού (Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research, – Language, 2016).

Είναι αποδέκτης πολλαπλών χρηματοδοτήσεων για ερευνητικά προγράμματα, μεταξύ των οποίων από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινωνικό Ταμείο), το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, το Εθνικό Ινστιτούτο Έρευνας για την Υγεία (NIHR), την Ένωση Εγκεφαλικών Επεισοδίων (the Stroke Association) και το Tavistock Trust for Aphasia. Η Δρ Κατερίνα Χείλαρη είναι αναγνωρισμένη διεθνώς ως ειδικός στην αφασία, ηγείται του Trials for Aphasia Panel του Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists και είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Aphasia Re-Connect.

Dr Katerina Hilari is a Professor of Acquired Communication Disorders and Research Centre Lead (Joint) for the Centre of Language and Communication Sciences at City, University of London. She is a Speech and Language Therapist with a background in Psychology.  Her research is driven by the priorities of people with aphasia. She leads a programme of research on developing and evaluating the effectiveness of complex interventions for aphasia.

Her research also focuses on the psychosocial impact of aphasia and other acquired disorders, and on the development and use of patient-reported outcome measures. Katerina has >100 publications, including 87 peer-reviewed papers and 185 conference presentations (25 invited and keynote). She has received awards for research excellence (2011), outstanding doctoral supervision (2015), and best journal article (Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research, – Language, 2016).

She is the recipient of multiple research grants including from the European Union (European Social Fund) and, in the UK, the National Institute for Health Research, the Stroke Association, and the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia. Katerina is recognised as an international expert in aphasia, leads the Trials for Aphasia Panel of the Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists and is on the Board of Trustees of Aphasia Re-Connect.
